Widji Summer Staff Hiring: Beginning PDF Print E-mail

Welcome!!

I’m glad you came to look into the 2010 Camp Widjiitiwin summer staff information and application. We’re starting 2010 with a new focus at camp. Our new mission comes out of the verse 2 Corinthians 5:20.

"Camp Widjiitiwin exists to be an ambassador for Christ to children and youth through compelling camp community experiences focused on demonstrating the gospel message through positive relationships and creative interactions."

Widji Staff GroupAs a Christian camp, we desire a spirit of harmony and encouragement as members of a family in our ministry together. We strive to share blessings, needs, joys, and plans as a family-indeed this has been a key to our past success; this is a united privilege for the glory of God. Parents send their children to Camp Widjiitiwin for many reasons. Primary among them is to get to know God better through His Son - Jesus Christ. To that end we need and want the best summer crew we can find. We trust the Lord to provide that - we hope you might be part of the answer to that prayer! However, if you're not interested in serving the Lord through your time here this summer, please don't apply. This has to more than a place to get away for the summer and meet new friends.

It is our desire that your time spent at Widji will have value for you in spiritual growth and personal enjoyment as you participate in busy work routines and other activities. In considering your role as a member of the Widji Team you'll want to think about the following:
  • You'll work hard...
  • You'll serve the Lord and His people in many ways and tasks...
  • You'll benefit through new friendships, time together in the Word, hearing great speakers and music...
  • You'll have fun!
  • You'll be part of a thriving Christian community where you'll belong
  • You'll be part of an ever-increasing group of Widji Alumni that includes many missionaries, pastors, and church leaders now serving the Lord throughout the world, whose basic training included service at Widji.
Doing ministry (or more commonly known as "work") in any of these areas will stretch you and give you experience that you'll find helpful no matter what you do in the future. At Camp Widjiitiwin we seek staff with a desire to serve Christ and work hard are the priorities sought in the selection of staff. As a result of the large number of applications for a limited number of positions, we are not able to hire everyone who applies.

Note: You must be 15 years old before the start of the summer (July 1st) to be eligible to apply for summer staff. Sorry if this disqualifies you, but we have a great SALT leadership program you can check out on our website.

Staff Theme OutfitsThe themes for 2010 we’re working on are described below. You can start thinking even now about what props you can bring or ideas that you have to make these weeks amazing for our campers. The themes for next summer are Dr. Seuss, Game Show Week, Mission Impossible, Disney, 70’s week and Holidaze (a different holiday each day) and Lights-Camera-Action. There will be more information on the website very soon. The new brochure will be ready at the beginning of January.
This is a great place to spend a summer serving God! Please pray that staffing will be accomplished according to God's purpose and plan for all our lives as for the ministry here. If that’s the kind of summer you’re looking for please click the Info to Know arrow below and then read carefully through each of the following pages until you come to the “Apply Now” button.

2 Corinthians 5:20 - We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.
